October, 2018

Well, Fall is upon us and we are enjoying the beautiful foliage as we continue our club visits! Debbie and I have seen more of Rhode Island and Cape Cod than we knew existed! The scenery is amazing and the clubs are warm and welcoming! Down to single digits with 9 clubs out of 65 left! For those of you following us on Facebook you know we are sharing all the fantastic fundraising and community service projects we learn about at each club!

November will be very busy with the
  • Providence Bruins, Nov. 9
  • Nuts and Bolts of Rotary, Nov. 10
  • Foundation Dinner, Nov 15

Registration info for all three is at www.Rotary7950.com . We thank you in advance to all that take the time out of your busy lives to attend these great events!!

We were honored to attend the 10th anniversary of the Barnstable/Sunrise Club and a very emotional night with the Foxboro Club who showed a film on Human Trafficking!

International Service Projects and Global Grants
Thank you to all who responded to the questionnaire sent to club and district leadership. It’s not too late to respond – the online version https://tinyurl.com/GGISQ7950 will close on November 17th.

We are specifically looking for Rotarians who have expertise in one of the 6 Areas of Focus, Community Assessment or Project Planning. This information will be used to build a Resource Database for your benefit.

As a result of the responses received, there is a strong interest for a seminar on Global Grants. Look for an update after the holidays. Club programs will start at the end of November. Please contact me if your club is interested or for more information contact Paulette Boudrot, pljadmin@comcast.net, 617-750-7511.

Rotary Leadership Institute
Does your club want to improve its retention rate? Rotary International recommends sending all new members to RLI. The next relatively close session will be held in Marlborough, MA on January 26th at the Courtyard by Marriott. All three parts will be offered. The Graduate Course this year is Motivating Volunteers in the morning and Membership Issues in the afternoon.

Remember – you don’t need to wait 3 years to graduate and graduates can take the graduate course more than once as they change every year. A full schedule is on the District website www.Rotary7950.com. Register at www.rlinea.org under upcoming events.

Lastly CONGRATULATIONS SOX!!! All our sports teams are playing so there is no shortage of events to watch!! Enjoy!!

And best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving with family.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Bill
