What a busy month this has been for District 7950!! Three wonderful events in a week’s time just before Thanksgiving!
  • First, the Providence Bruins event raised $1550 for the Foundation and provided much fellowship.
  • Second, the first “Nuts and Bolts” training event the next day. Great attendance, much learning and, again, much fellowship.
  • Last, the annual Foundation Dinner held in a new location, the Rosebrook Event Center. Great attendance, fantastic speaker, Ann Lee Hussey, good food and PDG Steve Certa presented so many clubs with awards for foundation giving! The only issue was the HORRIBLE weather for the ride home!! We pray everyone made it home safely.

I have worked with Billy and admire his dedication, passion and boundless energy! Our district will continue to be in very good hands. CONGRATULATIONS Billy!!!

Westerly Rotary installs a Peace Pole
A Peace Pole is an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth.

Each Peace Pole bears the message May Peace Prevail on Earth in different languages. The Westerly Peace Pole displays eight languages selected from a recent town census report: English, Italian, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Polish, German plus a Braille plaque.

The dedication included Rotary members, Members of Peace & Justice, Garden Club and Town of Westerly.

From the First Lady: Happy December!
I have never been much for titles, but I have been addressed as the First Lady on a few occasions and I think it has a nice ring to it! I am honored!

It is my pleasure to assist DG Bill Tennant and represent this fine District 7950. As many of you may know, I am a fairly new Rotarian. I recently celebrated my 3rd Anniversary with The Club of the Bridgewaters. I’ve had the opportunity to meet many wonderful, caring, hard-working individuals during this time. Now that Bill and I have officially visited all the district’s 65 clubs, I can truly say it’s been an inspiring experience listening to the presidents, board members and members sharing with us all the wonderful community service projects they’ve completed.

I personally am proud to be associated with such a fine organization. Assisting the district governor has made a difference in my life. I am proud of our DG Bill, I am proud to be a Rotarian and I am proud to be the District’s First Lady!

Season’s Greetings from our house to yours,

Deb Smith Zukowski
District Governor Administrator Assistant
Club of the Bridgewaters, Vice President

Club Anniversaries

I was honored to deliver the certificate from Rotary International to Bob Small, president of the Abington Club, in celebration of their 75th anniversary! And North Providence has just celebrated their 60th anniversary.

Debbie and I can hardly believe we have finished our official club visits!! 65 clubs in 3 months and every one an INSPIRATION! We were welcomed everywhere and are still trying to absorb how many people are helped by the hundreds of projects we learned about. We were honored to assist clubs with member installations and other events.
.

We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!!

Bill
